I am a believer in the blogging business. But it doesn’t mean that everyone should believe the same. There are people in favor of blogging, and there are many who do not believe in making a living through blogging.

While blogging is one of the effective ways to make money online, it requires knowledge and skills to become a top-rated blogger.

Blogging is for everyone, no matter if you are a professional, housewife, or even a student. You can make money blogging online on topics of your choice.

While there are many benefits of blogging, there are reasons that may push you away from the blogging business.

Why You Shouldn't Start Blogging?

Here I am sharing the reasons why you should not be blogging.

AI and Search Changes:

AI and search engines like Google are offering direct solutions through Gemini and AI Overviews. Visitors need not to visit the websites to get the answers. This causes traffic loss for established blogs.
It can be a reason for you not choosing blogging as a career.

But here is what you must know.

Even AI and search require content they can use to satisfy user queries. They use content from authority blogs.

Lack of Time:

Blogging requires time. If you are too busy with other things or your job is just great, then you may not want to get into the business of writing.

I must say that if you are satisfied with your current financial position, then you should not go after blogging. You may not want to spend extra hours after your office on a blog.

Blogging requires a lot of time and patience. It takes time to build authority, ranking, traffic, and monetization.

Note: I have met many bloggers during the Brighton SEO conference who are successfully running blogs even though they are working in different industries.

You Do Not Need More:

Most bloggers do blogs as a passive way to earn more money. Some even try it as a side hustle. But every person runs a blog for the same reason, to make more money.

If you are not one of those who want more money by trading your free time, then you should not choose blogging.

An average blogger earns between $400 and $4,000 a month.

If your earnings are more than that, then you may not want to start a blog.

Laziness:

When I asked many people why they do not want to start a blog, they replied that they are too lazy to read and write.

If reading and writing are not your passions, then blogging is not for you. To be successful in blogging, you must have the habit of reading as much as you can.

The more you read, the better you can write and deliver the message. So, if you believe that you are lazy, then do not choose blogging as a career.

New to Blogging:

If you are new to blogging or do not understand what blogging is, how it works, and how to make money with it, then you may often choose to deny it a full-time career.

Blogging is a business. Like any other business, it is a must to understand everything from head to toe before launching your blog.

As blogging is a continuous learning process, you can begin with learning what blogging is and how it works. Once you establish a blog, learn the ways to monetize it, grow your audience, write impactful articles, and boost your online presence.

Conclusion:

These are the 5 major reasons why you should not be blogging. But if you are a passionate reader and want to share your knowledge with the world through text, then blogging is the only best way to do it.
There is no doubt that audiences have shifted from reading content to video-sharing sites. But those sites are overwhelming.
